Confirmed: Tennant announces Senate run Tuesday (WV)

West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant, a Democrat, will announce Tuesday she is running for U.S. Natalie TennantSenate, according to emails sent Monday and over the weekend to supporters.

The emails, sent to supporters in the Charleston and Beckley areas, confirm Tennant is planning at least two announcement events Tuesday. Both emails state Tennant, a long rumored contender for the Democratic nomination, will announce her candidacy for Senate.

A 9:30 a.m. event is planned for the Tamarack arts and craft center in Beckley. There is also an 11:30 a.m. event slated for the Culture Center in Charleston.

“This will be a time for celebration and a time for US ALL to roll up our sleeves and help get Natalie elected,” the email to Charleston-area supporters states.

But we need Democratic Secretary of States more than we do Senators at this point. The Secretary of States are the ones that make sure we can vote. See Ohio for what happens when there is a Ken Blackwell in that position. So I hope that whoever follows her is a Democrat.

14. Last month a poll put Tennant at 40% vs. Capito 45% with 15% undecided.

Capito will have a shitload of money to spend and Obama will be a negative for Natalie.
