House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has a challenger in the 2014 Republican primary for his House seat.
Businessman Eric Gurr is challenging Boehner for the speaker's congressional seat, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Gurr told the paper he decided to run against Boehner after he backed U.S. military action in Syria.
"It was a tipping point," Gurr said. "I'm not a big fan of getting involved in the internal politics of another country."

the idea is to get Boehner removed from his office.
Not third party. Let the primary finish, and if Boehner loses to the 'bagger, then Dems win general, easily.

(94,545 posts)Let's not live under the illusion that any House win is "easy": think about all the nutty Tea Party Republicans already in office. Boehner is certainly in a more mainstream district, but he's as safely Gerrymandered (R+15) as anyone.

In any case, even a Primary challenge from the right might force him so far into loony territory that he won't be able to recover in the General.
