CBS) - The mother of Ayvani Perez, a 14-year-old Georgia girl who was found safe Wednesday after being abducted from her home early Tuesday, was arrested in February 2012 on drug charges with one of the men suspected in her daughter's abduction, a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to CBS News' Crimesider.
The Henry Daily Herald reported on Feb. 23, 2012 that Maria Magdalena Corral, who has been identified by multiple sources as the mother of Ayvani Perez, was arrested with Juan Alberto Contreras-Ramirez and three others following a drug raid in Stockbridge, Ga. (63,210 posts)I interepreted it as another case in which a child is abducted by someone who knows the family rather than by a complete stranger. Not sure that it's an implication of the mother in the kidnapping, except to the extent that her connection to the suspect is curious.

(9,350 posts)I may eventually be proven wrong, but I felt something seemed off about this story from the first time I heard the story. One of my thoughts was it seems odd that a person who lived in a house like the one shown on TV does not have jewelry or money in the house. In addition, after they were told there was no jewelry they shot the dog and took the girl. It seemed to me there was some other reason for the people taking the girl.
