Foul-mouthed pro-gun Pennsylvania police chief loses his job

Source: NBC News

The Pennsylvania police chief who shot off his mouth and a machine gun in profanity-laced pro-gun videos lost his job Thursday night.

The Gilberton Borough Council voted to fire Mark Kessler, who'd already been suspended for posting over-the-top videos in which he ranted about the Second Amendment and liberals while spraying machine gun fire with borough-owned weapons.

Kessler told reporters outside the closed disciplinary hearing Thursday night that "I feel in my heart I'm doing the right thing," NBC Philadelphia reported.

"Yeah, I made some videos with some choice language, but that's my right," he said. "That's my freedom."

I suppose he thinks that's his right, too.

No one elected that bastard police chief. He was made police chief by a vote of the borough council, and a vote of the borough council was sufficient to remove him from office.

In the twenties, Mussolini's Black Shirts would maraud their way through Italy, going to city council meetings and demanding that things be done their way and that some elected council members be removed and replaced with someone more to their liking, and presumably Mussolini's liking as well. Is that what Kessler and his armed militia of right wing reprobates have in mind for Gilberton?

and Gilberton has a right to fire his crazy ass.

Police are supposed to uphold the law, "protect and serve", yada yada.
They aren't supposed to use their position to intimidate or target people.
His whole act was a way of expressing that he wishes to shoot liberals
because he fears the liberals want to castrate him (i.e. take away his assault penis)

Adios MF.

maybe not use town property while doing so, but absent that, ok. However, he does not have the untrammeled right to be free of consequences for speaking out. Sure, you can yell "FIRE!" in a crowded movie theater when there is none, but don't be surprised if you get arrested because 2 little, old ladies, a toddler and a pregnant woman were trampled underfoot because of your actions. And yes, I agree with a poster up-chain: we will be hearing from this jackass (apologies to donkeys and mules everywhere) again. Probably when he decides to run for the state legislature or Congress on the More Guns ticket.

for no reason at all.

Tell his antigovernment supporters that. He didn't own those guns or bullets, the taxpayers did. I doubt he picked up the spent shells either so that's littering which is a $300 fine in PA. He can have freedom from government employment.

You got fired because you're an unstable psychopath who, for all your bullshit overcompensating-for-tiny-penis videos of you bravely shooting at trees, can't handle a gun for shit. If you could, you wouldn't have shot yourself.

Yes, that's right. It seems Mr. tough guy here once shot himself with his own gun while attempting to break up a bar fight. Why he needed a gun to break up a bar fight is, well, I'm not even going to wonder. I already know the answer. But apparently he can't even break up a bar fight, with a gun, without shooting himself.
