Greece probes blog post calling for gov't change .

ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- A prosecutor in Athens has ordered an investigation into a blog post on the special forces reservists' website demanding the government and president resign and an interim government be appointed under the "guarantee" of the armed forces.
The misdemeanor court prosecutor ordered the investigation Thursday into the posting, which appeared overnight on the website of the Special Forces Reserve Union.
Apart from the government's resignation, the posting calls for Greece to withdraw from its bailout obligations, special courts be set up to prosecute those responsible for Greece's financial crisis and all property held by German companies, individuals or the state seized to pay off German World War II debts, among other things.
The posting said the "institution guaranteeing all of the above could be the country's armed forces."

Ups - it is never a good idea, when some groups in the military want to do this things - mostly because they do have the means for going rouge and do a coup.. And Greece have their share of experience with military going rouge - and do coup against the government...
And it is also a fact, that Germany, got easy out of paying Greece for the misconducts - or lets say it - plundering of Greece in World War two - Greece was one of the nations at the balkans who really got hit hard by the german army - I believe it got hit hardest after Yugoslavia in fact - when it came to war damages.. Greece was a poor country after world war two - not that it was to rich before the war either - but it was hard to be in greece when germany was there... But it is a long time ago - and i doubt seizing property from companies individuals or other vice would do any good...

If it occurred they'd be out of Europe in the blink of an eye.
off topic : can you think of a Norwegian beer whose name is four letters the first being the letter A with an umlaut ?

I'm not sure if the greece claims for war reparations is justified - but some greeks think it is - and it is a lot of anger specially when it comes to the old population who experienced it all.. Germans was horrible in the balkans - killing and murdering - at will.. And the difference between regular army units in Whermacht and SS was slim - if non...
The junta in Greece was there for a long time but greece ended up democratic in the end - but the wounds from that time is still there - if you want to se it.
I can think about a beer named ÅS ØL who is made in Drammen maybe to 30-40km from where I live - they do make some decent beer - even a non-alcoholic beer who in fact taste well in fact.

(42,239 posts)That might be the one if the brewery is on Norway's west coast. I pal'd up with a couple from Norway in Malaga Spain last week. He's Polish and runs a pub/bar and his girlfriend is Italian and brews the stuff. I wanted to find it here where apparently its sold.

It could be - even though it exist many local breweries around the country - Drammen is in a area called Østlandet - kind of middle of the other lands who once had kings but who now is part of Norway... In some degree, this different lands still exist in the form the name of the different areas - but they are now just that - different names in Norway... (It is difficult I know - you need to know the local history to really understand it all )
