Dick Cheney: Obama Lost Some Opportunities With His Handling Of Osama Bin Laden Raid
Source: Huffington Post
In a Thursday radio interview with conservative host Hugh Hewitt, Cheney was asked whether he would have advised president Barack Obama to "allow the victory dance that occurred and the operational details to come out." Cheney's answer amounted to no.
You dont go out and broadcast the fact that youve got the guy," Cheney said. "You want to take that intelligence and be able to exploit it over the next few nights, and wrap up large parts of the network.
They were in such a hurry to go out
and announce victory, that Im convinced that they probably did not get maximum damage out of the intel that they had captured.
Back in May 2011 at the time of the capture, Cheney credited the Obama administration for its sound judgment in carrying out the mission. But on Thursday, he also appeared to suggest that the president and his staff never really credited the Bush administration for its part in the puzzle.
"They needed to recognize, as some have, although he never really has, but all the work that was done by our intel professionals over a period of ten years to make that possible," Cheney told Hewitt.

It's really too bad people don't suffocate when they have their head up their ass. It would remove a lot of hinderences to progress.

Presence of asbestos in the World Trade Center.
During the time when the World Trade Center was planned and constructed, asbestos was a very prevalent building material. It was highly heat resistant, easy to incorporate into a number of materials and relatively inexpensive. As a result, asbestos-containing products like insulation, drywall, steel and fireproofing materials were incorporated into a number of structures within the World Trade Center buildings. An estimated 400 tons of asbestos were used.
Asbestos and the World Trade Center Infographic
When the Twin Towers collapsed to the ground on September 11, 2001, a massive cloud of smoke, dust and debris released these hazardous asbestos fibers and other toxic substances into the air. Asbestos fireproofing materials from 20 stories of the towers came showering down on New York City. According to reports from the EPA, the implosion from the towers "pulverized asbestos to ultra-fine particles."

Halliburton, Cheney's company, and asbestos liability. December 2001 article.
A recent trio of asbestos-related verdicts may be enough to push Halliburton (HAL) into a financial black hole. And, while few other oil service companies have Halliburton's potential level of exposure, the fear of costly litigation could be enough to push investors away from the sector.
Last Wednesday, a Baltimore jury verdict saddled Halliburton with $30 million in additional asbestos liability. While that alone may not seem terribly significant, as $30 million is pocket change for the company, the continued jury verdicts against the company are a real threat. Including the Baltimore case, Halliburton subsidiaries have lost three verdicts in three months, with liability pushing $125 million.
"Thirty million dollars, in the scope of things, is nothing," says Dan Pickering, director of energy research at Simmons & Co., a Houston energy investment firm, and a member of the TSC Energy Roundtable. "It's the data point and what it means that people are reacting to."
Halliburton shares lost 43% of their value Friday to close at $12, as news of the Baltimore verdict made the rounds.

In 1998, Halliburton merged with Dresser Industries, which included Kellogg. Prescott Bush was a director of Dresser Industries, which is now part of Halliburton; his son, former president George H. W. Bush, worked for Dresser Industries in several positions from 1948 to 1951, before he founded Zapata Corporation.

I am not advocating for a conspiracy theory about 9/11. In fact, I don't believe there is any evidence that the asbestos alleged to have been in the Twin Towers was in any way linked to Dresser Industries or Halliburton. But I wonder if anyone has investigated that. This idea has not been confirmed, but has it ever been explored and would it be possible to explore it should someone wish to do so?
Cheney is, in my opinion, a despicable person who, himself, twists and re-creates facts to suit himself. I do not ascribe any acts to him that have not been proved, but I do not rule out wrongdoing on his part.
My opinion is that Cheney is not to be trusted. Nor are the Bushes.
