Republican Congressional Candidate Says 'Holocaust Never Happened'

A congressional candidate running as a Republican in the upcoming Illinois primary says the “Holocaust never happened.”

Arthur Jones, 64, a Lyons, IL, insurance salesman who organizes family-friendly, neo-Nazi events around Adolph Hitler’s birthday, hopes to be the Republican candidate chosen to run against Democratic Congressman Dan Lipinski in Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District.

“As far as I’m concerned, the Holocaust is nothing more than an international extortion racket by the Jews,” Jones said. “It’s the blackest lie in history. Millions of dollars are being made by Jews telling this tale of woe and misfortune in books, movies, plays and TV. "The more survivors, the more lies that are told."

A member of the Nationalist Socialist Party in his younger days, Jones took part in the Nazis’ march on Chicago’s Marquette Park in 1978. While he doesn’t deny nor repudiate his “past affiliations,” he says he votes Republican “90 percent of the time.”

From December:
http://www.weareillinois.org/connect/newsdetail.aspx?newsid=12134

Arthur Jones, who has denied the existence of the Holocaust and is an avowed Neo-Nazi, has filed nominating papers in the 3rd Congressional District to run in the 2012 primary as a Republican.

Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady issued the following statement:

“The Illinois Republican Party disavows any association with the candidacy of Arthur Jones and ask that all citizens of Illinois do the same. His views and previous statements are repugnant and his candidacy should not and will not be supported in any way by the Illinois Republican Party. Unfortunately, pathetic and ignorant human beings like Arthur Jones still exist - my sympathies are with the members of our Jewish community as well as other communities to which Mr. Jones has directed his hate.”

Only once in my life have I met a holocaust denier. This came up - exactly how, I don't know - while they were espousing crazy pro-Republican things after the Bush/Kerry election. It blew my mind. Just last night I told some friends about this, and they were a little surprised, because most people don't think they'll ever meet someone like that in person.

They often revere the US military, but at the same time revere both the Nazis and the Confederacy. I can name two groups that killed a whole bunch of GIs, which would tend to run up against a love for US soldiers.

He knew most Germans would initially reject his claims about the camps as vile, propagandistic lies of the enemy, so he studiously documented all the evidence he could. He didn't think it would still be controversial 80 years later, even in his own country, all that awful footage remains.

Sadly, he was right about most "reject(ing) his claims about the camps as vile, propagandistic

documents all the evidence" ...

The sad thing is, though, all the truth in the world probably couldn't faze some of these neo-Nazi jerks. They're so dead-set on their worldview they'll shut out everything else. I should know, I've tried to wake up a few of these pricks and all I usually get in response is that I get called a 'secret Jew', or, 'anti-white', etc.

These wild conspiracy claims have been thoroughly debunked for over ten years. There is absolutely no basis to make such an outrageous claim, and I am not going to engage you in derailing this serious thread so you can peddle wild-eyed nonsense. We are talking about the dangers of Fascism and the evils of white Nationalism; this is serious, and your 9/11 Trutherism is deeply unserious. To try to push this paranoid pablum is just despicable. Nobody is buying what you are selling.

Yesterday we had that Birther in Alaska who filed a suit saying straight-out that Obama's "mulatto" race disqualifies him for president. Finally, an honest Birther admitting its all race, explaining why no facts dissuade them.

Today we have a Holocaust denier/compassionate Neo-Nazi who tells us how at-home he feels in the Repug party.

Scandals breaking all over the place, disastrous presidential debates and primaries featuring the stupidest candidates ever, a booming economy . . .

All the while, there's a lesson to be learned: if you're going to attack a leader as the worst dictator since Josef Stalin and he doesn't deliver it by behaving that way, you're going to look like an idiot.

To think 2 years ago, Repubs had what looked like a historic electoral victory. Now, one wonders if the Party will exist in 2016. Too much success is bad if from success you prove yourself an idiot.
