John Boehner Opposes ENDA, Dealing Blow To Bill's Chances

Source: Huffington Post

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) affirmed on Monday morning that he would oppose a law that would prohibit discrimination against gay and lesbian employees in the workplace, citing the possibility that it would put a financial burden on businesses.

"The Speaker believes this legislation will increase frivolous litigation and cost American jobs, especially small business jobs," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said in a statement.

... But even if the law were to make it through that chamber, it would require passage in the House. And with Boehner coming out in opposition, it seems unlikely that it would even get a vote.

It's all BS, but best/worst part is the GOP "Flip Wilson" defense "The devil made me do it" - updated to "The Tea Party made me do it"
Voters need to stop falling for the (Flip Wilson) "Tea Party" defense and accept all the BS obstructing USA from moving forward is GOP and they need to be voted out

By attracting even more potential talented employees, ENDA would put a 'financial burden' on business?
How, by having to fire the homophobes currently on staff when they can't keep their ignorant mouths shut?

more likely to take an extra 5 minutes in their breaks, and 64.7% more likely to take an extra 11 minutes on their lunches. That will translate to $72 billion of lost revenue for rack workplace over 2 years.
I just totally made up those statistics. I'm expecting them to show up on free republic being cited as coming from the Blah Blah Freedom of Eagles and Flags for God Institute.
Boner is an idiot. This is not giving anyone special rights. It's saying that you have to treat everyone equally.

As long as an employer hires and fires an employee exclusively on their performance there is no additional cost.

This is a bull-pucky made-up excuse from bo-ner boy again to take zero responsibility for anything. Wait, he is nothing...
