Rob Ford admits drinking and driving, says he’ll sue former staffers

Source: Toronto Star

Rob Ford says he didn’t party with a prostitute, he didn’t snort cocaine, he didn’t take OxyContin and he plans on suing former staffers who told police he did.

But, “I might have had some drinks and driven which is absolutely wrong,” Toronto’s embattled mayor conceded in an impromptu scrum outside his office Thursday morning.

It sounds like Toronto is going to live through hell until next years elections.

It is my understanding his base is in the suburbs, and he apparently still has significant support there. Amazing.

The guy is out of control, showing appalling judgment, showing classic signs of addiction, and now admits to driving while intoxicated.
Very unstable behavior, which has a high probability of bloodshed and mayhem down the road.
How much road he has left is anyone's guess.
Given that body mass, and enough cocaine use, he could blow out his heart.

Which has more population combined than greater Toronto.

The reason for this was a masterplan by the previous Conservative provincial government who was driven out of office for other deplorable reasons. The Cons changed the boundaries and what previously was separate districts, were combined (in the name of cutting costs of course). So now, the outskirts, who are made up of the mostly right wing yokels who are taken in by one-liners like Ford's "Stop the Gravy Train!", decide for Toronto who their mayor is.

He could probably get a job as a Congressional Republican. He'd be in good company. He could primary John Cornyn, and we'd have two great Canadian Senators in Texas.

And, there is no mechanism to remove Ford unless he's convicted of a crime. Toronto Police say the video alone isn't sufficient evidence to charge him under Canadian law. So it looks like Toronto is stuck with him, barring new developments.

I heard that the suburbs voted for this guy in order to get back at the people in the original city of Toronto. If so, they should be very happy with him.

cigarettes, hoping we would not get to the pot. Somehow this situation reminds me of that. Course that was just a kid and one expects behavior like that from a kid. Rob Ford is no kid so he needs to man up already.
