Issa Fishes For Proof Obama Knew He Lied About Obamacare

Source: TPM

DYLAN SCOTT – DECEMBER 2, 2013, 6:41 PM EST

House Oversight Chair Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent letters Wednesday to 15 insurance companies demanding copies of their correspondence with the Obama administration in an effort to determine if the administration knew in advance that people could lose access to their doctors or have their existing health insurance policies canceled under Obamacare.

The letters were sent to major insurance companies -- Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, UnitedHealth Group among them. Issa asks for a response by Dec. 13.

Issa is looking for a few pieces of information. Did insurance companies know that the president would say that Americans could keep their health plan or their provider? Did they inform the administration that some plans would be canceled or provider networks changed? Did they object to that characterization?

He also asked for "all ... communications" between company employees and members of the Obama administration since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law in March 2010. There is another request for interactions between insurance company employees about the accuracy of Obama's "keep your doctor" pledge.

Regardless of how anyone does or doesn't feel about Obama, this is a waste of time.

They would only hurt themselves if they tried to impeach him; and I think they know that. So, what's the point of trying to discredit a president who cannot run again anyway?

So, they can probably give that a rest.

Not so sure about the "of color" part, though. That takes in a lot of territory, including Asian Americans and Cuban Americans whom the right seem to love (and vice versa).

until, and unless something real comes along. I will say that Obama had to know that some doctors would not take the new plan their patient got because they switched insurance companies. You would think that they would have known that with all of the changes required by the Affordable Care Act that some policies would be canceled.
Having said that, so what? Big deal. It still is a vast improvement in coverage and protections for almost everyone. Can we improve upon it, certainly! Will Issa move to try to Impeach Obama, certainly! He is a shit-head!

We got a decade of investigations into Bill Clinton's consensual sex life, but no Republicans cared to ask why a gay hooker posed as a reporter, and in addition to lobbing softball questions at Bush during his press conference, checked in when there were no press events and didn't check out.

Law For Change - Section 501 (c) (4) exemption "Exclusivly"

A nonprofit corporation or nonprofit LLC (state law permitting) that is organized exclusively for the promotion of social welfare may obtain a federal income tax exemption under Section 501(c)(4) of the Code. Exemption under this section will not give donors a charitable deduction but it may enable the organization to avoid the restrictions of private foundation status and the restrictions on lobbying.
