Dan Rather: CBS Has 'A Lot To Answer' About Lara Logan Scandal

Source: Huffington Post

Dan Rather told Piers Morgan on Monday that CBS News has "a lot to answer" about the scandal surrounding its discredited "60 Minutes" report on Benghazi, but he said that Lara Logan, the correspondent at the heart of the scandal, should keep her job.

Logan is currently on an indefinite leave of absence after her central source for the Benghazi story was found to be a serial liar.

Rather said he was sympathetic to Logan's plight, but he said there were still questions about the story. "CBS News has a lot to answer for this," he said. "They have a lot of questions, they've answered some of them. I don't want in anyway to add to their burden." Rather also contrasted Logan's scandal with the one that ended his career at CBS--the so-called "Rathergate" affair.

"With our story, the one that led to our difficulty, no question the story was true," he said. "What the complaint and how eventually most of us lost our jobs was, 'OK, your story was true but the way you got to the truth was flawed.' The process was flawed. That's not the case with her Benghazi story."

I really wouldn't want to be associated with a fake journalist like Logan, tarring my own reputation by appearing on the same TV news-magazine.

You know, Republicon propaganda pimps are special, and therefore get special treatment: they never have to accept responsibility for deliberately flinging Republicon propaganda and lies at the citizens of the USA>
