Rep. Hartzler avoids standing near Obama photo

Source: KMIZ (ABC Affiliate) News

COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Missouri congresswoman Vicky Hartzler is a frequent critic of President Barack Obama. Her concern apparently also extends to his image.

After a visit Tuesday to the Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Hartzler was looking for a place to do interviews with reporters.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that Hartzler asked an aide to move a U.S. flag away from a portrait of Obama — apparently so that the president's picture wouldn't be in the background of television camera shots.

Hartzler is a Republican who represents the 4th Congressional District in west-central Missouri. She has frequently criticized the Democratic president for his policies on health care, taxes and spending and the federal deficit.age.

She is just awful.

I live very near your district. I have the awesome Emmanuel Cleaver. She proves every day just what a terrible Congressperson she is. I can't believe she is afraid of a picture of the President.

Sad thing is, I doubt there will be a strong enough challenger to go against her in the next election.

... by a disgruntled person. I found it behind a chair and re-hung it. I used to complain about G.W. Bush's picture up there in years past. This guy should grow up and be an adult about the portrait policies of the V.A. It is an issue that cuts both ways depending on who is in power.

Why not remove any image of the US President from all public displays? Pretend he doesn't exist.

Pathetic ass of a person.

She is a truly awful representative. Spends all of her time blaming Obama for everything that's wrong with the country. I tried to listen in to one of her "town meeting" conference calls she does with the people in this district. I lasted about 10 minutes. I had to hand up before I stroked out. She blamed Obama all the way through it. Sadly, that's red meat to the voters in this district.

She is probably one of the best examples of what a Missouri Welfare Queen looks like. Her family has sucked up over $800,000 and probably closer to $1 million dollars of farm subsidies and yet didn't hesitate to vote against food stamp benefits. I hope her land turns fallow and all her crops rot in the ground from now on. The Pope even knows what and who you are Vicky, and all the money in the world won't buy you out of this one. She's worthless and I hope we replacer her sooner rather than later.
