Baucus to be named U.S. ambassador to China

The White House is set to name outgoing Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) as its pick for ambassador to China, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and a Baucus ally familiar with the decision said Wednesday.
Baucus, 72, announced in April that he won't seek reelection to the Senate in 2014.

So, I guess we should expect this. It's more of the 11'vende Chess Play...
I assume this will be applauded ...but it looks like "Pay Offs and Revolving Door."
But...hey...who knows... Max might have saved our "Republic" from worse if he and Obama hadn't worked together.. RIGHT?

(230 posts)Now the Democratic governor of Montana can appoint a Democrat to the seat Baucus held, giving a Democrat an incumbent advantage in 2014 and therefore strengthening the chances of keeping a Democratic Senate.
It's a brilliant move.
