Trey Radel not resigning from office, plans to return to Congress

Source: Naples Daily News

CAPE CORAL — Rep. Trey Radel will not step down from office and declined to say whether he plans to continue his 2014 reelection bid.

"While I am thankful, I'm still remorseful," he said in a prepared statement Thursday with his wife Amy by his side.

"I made a mistake and I know that. I let our country down. And again, for that I am sorry. I will do everything in my power to make it up to you and regain your trust."

Radel, who left Hazelden today after entering rehab on Nov. 21, said he was treated for alcoholism. He said he was a casual cocaine user and used it a handful of times. He said he did not use it in Southwest Florida, and was not high when he was on the job.

AP: US Rep. Radel will not resign after coke bust

USA Today: Rep. Trey Radel says he'll stay in office

WINK-TV, where Radel used to be a news anchor: Rep. Trey Radel says he will not resign from Congress

Hmm. What do you think of this? Washington, DC mayor Marion Barry didn't resign immediately after he got arrested for cocaine but rather decided against running for re-election.

Of the American MSM being increasingly outraged about the alcoholic cocaine using mayor of Toronto not resigning even though they never cover international news, prior to this story breaking. Then Trey Radel did the exact same thing and ♫crickets♫. At least they dropped the Ford stories because someone was too embarrassed to harass Canada's Ford while ignoring our own Radel.

Gag. They clutch Jesus tight when it suits them and keep Him far away when it does not.

Found this on wisegeek:
IOKIYAR is an acronym which stands for It's OK If You're A Republican, referring to allegations of hypocritical behavior by powerful members of the Republican party.

Yeah, in the school yard this was the annoying rubber-glue statement. It bounces off of me, and sticks to you.

I have written, and spoken my own aphorisms. One is that hypocrisy is a foundational pillar of the Republicans. Another, i allude to Love Story, being a Republican means never having to say I am sorry.

Some clever person on this site made a poster with this repuke. I do not know how to paste that in my comment, i did borrow that image with others and place on my internet journal (click). this repuke wanted drug testing for food stamp recipients.

As i wrote: Speaking of piss, i have taken so many piss tests over the years to get to work, or to get a card so to be allowed to receive a work order. Workers are always suspect of being drug fiends. We have legislators (read Repukes) who believe the poor should be constantly tested to prove they are not drug fiends, and if they are, well, they and their families should be denied food.

I am supposed to believe his need for dow never happened in his office, in Florida, or off the shaved mound of venus of some expensive prostitute?

I mean, really, he is a Republican, so the truth doesn't exist in his genes.

Barney Frank got in some scandal, but his constituents didn't care.

Maybe we're starting to grow up when it comes to drug use as well.
