Keep those snow shovels handy.
The forecast for possible snow totals in the Detroit area keeps increasing for the coming weekend. The National Weather Service is projecting that the area could be walloped with between 7 and 15 inches of snow by Sunday night, according to information posted shortly before 3 p.m.
The forecast shows 1-3 inches are possible on Saturday night, 4-8 inches on Sunday and 2-4 inches on Sunday night. A winter storm watch is already in effect for most of Sunday. Brutally cold weather is expected to follow on Monday, with the high projected to be only 6 degrees and a low around -11. . .

This may be from Detroit, but it's true for the whole Midwest and Northeast, at least. Keep yourselves and your pets safe.

(26,261 posts)I'm hearing anything from 4 to 6 inches for Flint to Saginaw. But they are also saying they really don't know what this storm will do or exactly where it will do it!

And someone in the house just got back from the grocery, and he said the place was just about stripped bare. No meat, no produce, and the only milk available was skim (which lucky for us, we drink).

Something's screwed up here.
Where I live in the midst of the National Forest and dirt roads everywhere, we take this seriously. I certainly do because I have to pay a guy to plow me out every time I get snowed in. As I live off about a grand a month SS income, this is important to me.
I will be verifying this.
