(CNN) -- A small plane crashed while trying to land at the Aspen, Colorado, airport Sunday afternoon, according to the FAA and local officials.
There was no immediate word on the fate of those on board the twin-engine jet, which FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer said was a Bombardier Challenger 600 that was coming from Tucson, Arizona.
Photos posted on Twitter showed the plane upside down on the tarmac, its fuselage charred.
Two celebrities, who were at the small airport in the Aspen ski resort area, posted Twitter messages saying they witnessed the crash.

(2,262 posts)Serious medical studies on the effects of various drugs on pilots, found that pilots who were say, drunk, messed up everything. But pilots on pot would tend to just space out one or two things. Problem is, we never know WHICH things; like maybe, letting down the wheels, say.
In the present case though, the error seems to have been from Aspen control tower. Radio from the aircraft suggested flyover due to 30 knot tail wind; ground control simply told flight they were cleared to land....
