Dave Madden Dead ... Reuben Kincaid In 'Partridge Family' Dies At 82

Dave Madden -- who played "The Partridge Family's" aggravated band manager on the 1970s TV show -- has died after a long illness at age 82 ... TMZ has learned.

Madden played Reuben Kincaid on the show ... who was often bedeviled by the antics of the Partridge kids, particularly Danny, played by Danny Bonaduce.

Dave's former agent tells TMZ ... he died of congestive heart and kidney failure early this morning.

Madden also appeared on another popular 70s TV show, "Laugh-In" and was the author of a couple books, including a book of memoirs published in 2007.

I never watched The Partridge Family, so I immediately remembered Laugh-In and Dave throwing confetti.

The joke was that he would have some dirty thought. Because the network censors wouldn't allow him to say it on the show, he would throw confetti instead. Whenever you saw him come on and throw confetti, you could fill in your own dirty punchline.

You see, young 'uns, there was no HBO or the like back then, and everything on TV was very sanitized. IIRC, Laugh-In even caught some flak for their "Funk & Wagnall's" jokes.

13. I had a Partridge Family lunch box before my Iron Man one. Hated it at 1st but fell in love with

Susan Day, the oldest daughter who played keyboards and was totally hot. She later came back big on L.A. Law. All the famous actors of my childhood are dying off. The end of the year recaps of who died that year suck more and more every year. Just thankful it's not me yet! Lol
