Rockefeller Says He Doesn't Think W.Va. Water Is Safe For Drinking

Source: WCHS

U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., said the water crisis affecting West Virginia is just another example of industry putting profit over people.

Rockefeller said he doesn’t think the water in the counties affected is safe to drink.

“No, I don’t,” he said. “And even if some expert group told me it was safe, I don’t think I’d believe it.

Rockefeller said he may sound cynical, but he adds, that comes after 50 years of public service and seeing the way corporations operate.

At least not the commercial water that West Virginia American Water Company pipes in from the Elk River in Charleston. It seem like the story changes every day here. We have plenty of water. The problem is, we have too many unregulated corporations.

Well, why didn't he see this sooner? He's FROM WV, after all! They ought to change the name of the city to Chemicalville. There are umpteen chemical companies all over the place there, all at water's edge too. I know. I lived there a couple years once. What the people want and need is uncontaminated water first, and THEN answers. The answers are for HIM to find and legislate around. They need to stop everything right now and go randomly from one plant to the next and inspect each top to bottom. No "walk-through-magic-wand" inspections, either.
Get the effing EPA down there pronto to clean up the river until not one effing chemical can be found in it.

Corporate Protection Agency. Exactly. The Corporation hates anything that protects the environment and thus The People. This country will be in danger as long as The Corporation runs our government. Our government is supposed to hold them accountable, and now The Corporation holds the government at bay and even makes the government (meaning The People) pick up the tab for cleaning up all the shit mess (externalities) they make and leave behind. The Corporation has now rigged everything against us.

There is only one way to stop this. And I am not going to say publicly what that is.
If you think about it for 30 seconds, you will arrive at the same solution I am thinking of.

... it will boost sales of bottled water!

U-S-A! U-S-A!

P.S. I'm not doubting Sen. Rockefeller's conclusion. It's just that, as Barbara Bush would say with a chuckle, it's working very well for the mega-corporations that sell us water as a premium drink. Oxygen will be next.

It seems to me they don't have much to lose.

America and publish the results in public.

Don't run tests through the Gov agencies, they are controlled by Corps. Please hire independent labs.

Just a couple hundred tests.
