Beauprez clarifies stance on personhood abortion ban (CO-GOV)

Source: KUSA-TV 9NEWS

In the 9NEWS interview, [Colorado GOP gubernatorial candidate Bob] Beauprez was asked, "Have you ever supported personhood? And do you now?"

"No," replied the former congressman. "I got a hundred percent pro-life voting record, as you probably know, so I'm very much pro-life. But personhood as my dear friend and my Archbishop Charles Chaput, our previous archbishop here in Denver, said 'that's not the way to do it."

The liberal group ProgressNow balked at that answer. It found a voter guide from 2006 in which Bob Beauprez responded that he would support "the Right to Life Act, HR 552, recognizing that personhood begins at fertilization."

"Personhood is at the core of how he answers, saying that he does support personhood," said Amy Runyon-Harms, who heads ProgressNow. "Here we are eight years later and he's continuing to flip-flop on issues that matter to Colorado voters."

That is my opinion.

Tancredo supporters are fanatics and they will be out in force for their guy.

'Both Ways Bob' is just one of the herd of Repuglican gubernatorial contenders now.

Never heard that before.

The idea of personhood as a policy goal is that unborn children deserve the same legal status as all human beings from the moment of conception.

If you're female.
Which only reinforces their view of us as not really human beings, just Tupperware for the sacred unborn.

understand this, is beauprez taking orders from his religious leaders? Or worse, is he running his office based on church doctrine rather than U.S. law
