(Reuters) Federal agents have arrested an Oklahoma man accused of mailing a package bomb last year addressed to Joe Arpaio, the controversial Arizona lawman who calls himself Americas toughest sheriff, officials said on Tuesday.
Gregory Lynn Shrader, 55, is suspected of dropping off the parcel, filled with gunpowder and other materials, at a U.S. Postal Service mailbox in Flagstaff, Arizona, but the package was intercepted by state authorities before it reached Arpaio, according to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
The device was later rendered harmless by police.
Shrader was arrested last week and is being held without bond at the Tulsa County Jail, where he is awaiting release to the custody of U.S. marshals, according to the countys website. He was charged in a criminal complaint with one count of willfully making a threat through the U.S. mail.

(35,076 posts)People say "Oh, he's tough on crime" and think that instantly translates to people, to criminals, being afraid of him or something to that effect.
Those who say that clearly haven't met all types of people in the world.
Masochists are one type of person who would be attracted to what Arpaio offers, there is also almost (if not outright) a sense of martial discipline that Arpaio's corrections ideology gives that others don't give and allows offenders to learn a new deviant system of sorts (They go in criminals and come out ascetic criminals with survival skills), and he is more celebrity than sheriff so if you're going to be a criminal then be a criminal for Arpaio.
And I think this is all supported by the fact that the recidivism rate under Arpaio hasn't lowered at all.

In short, Arpaio brings 'crazy ultra right BDSM' into the world.
