Gaza Terrorists Shower Rockets on Southern Israel

In the last few minutes there have been reports of a string of Color Red warning sirens in southern Israeli communities, indicating a salvo of rockets launched from the Gaza Strip.

Residents of the Eshkol Region, as well as the towns of Sderot, Netivot and Ofakim, have reported at least 4 separate sirens in the past minutes.

In the last few moments there have been unconfirmed reports of explosions near Netivot.

At least of one of the communities near Gaza has been damaged by rocket fire, according to the latest news reports, though it has not been confirmed which one. Residents are being advised to stay in protective shelters until further updates warrant.

At least 25 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip at Israeli southern cities Wednesday. Code Red alert was heard all across the Gaza envelope, including Sderot, Netivot, the Shaar HaNegev Regional Council and the Sdot Negev Regional Council.

One rocket has reportedly hit a residential area but there were no reports of injuries. Iron Dome missile system intercepted three rockets.

The Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility, calling all militant factions in Gaza to end the ceasefire with Israel.
