Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon has launched a stinging attack on US President Barack Obama's foreign policy, telling the United States that "if your image in the world is feebleness, it doesn't pay".
Speaking at an event at Tel Aviv University, Yaalon criticises Obama's perceived weakness around the world in China, Ukraine and the Middle East.
"I heard voices of disappointment in the region. I was in Singapore and heard disappointment about China getting stronger and the US getting weaker," Yaalon said.

(6,390 posts)...Its in Israel's interest to make Obama look weak in foreign policy......that way it influences the elections here by the populace to look to someone who is "strong" (despite that they may do the same thing) on foreign affairs. Certain groups in Israel want the occupation to continue...in the hopes they can get more concessions later. That's what they have always hoped for.....defacto recognition of annexation, despite the local populace wishes (this sounds eerily familiar). If they can't get that, then, they will take what they can get.
Obama is pushing to get this over with...the extreme right in Israel wants more time to solidify its holdings....why not? its not if as they are paying for it...we..Joe Taxpayer are.

(12,287 posts)coordinated effort among the worlds right wing to make him "feeble" and "feckless" as they all have been declaring. I don't think the rest of the world wants the cowboy routine anymore.

(4,452 posts)Israel has the 4th most powerful military force on the planet, thanks to US support. Their government sells fear and paranoia to justify their human rights violations.
Good luck trying to shame the US into standing behind Israel but unfortunately we provably will.

(22,794 posts)that Obama is doing a good job. A strong Israel supporter for years, I now don't believe a word their government says. They are only interested in expanding Israel's territory. It used to be about self-defense, but that was then and this is now.
