Ole Miss Star Marshall Henderson Tweets He's Boycotting ESPN Because of Michael Sam

Marshall Henderson, one of the most controversial basketball players in SEC history, was in the limelight again Monday for all of the wrong reasons.

The former Ole Miss guard tweeted that he was boycotting ESPN' because the program showed former Missouri defensive end Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend. Sam became the first out gay player to be drafted in the NFL when the St. Louis Rams took him with the 249th pick, and ESPN cameras showed Sam kissing his boyfriend in celebration of the moment.

Henderson, evidently, wasn't a fan. "Boycotting sportscenter till this Michael sam nasty a** s*** is off...My brothers are 7 and 11 and saw that!!! #SICKENING," Henderson tweeted. Henderson faced immediate backlash on Twitter for his comments, but only seemed to double down on them.

Henderson played a big role in guiding Ole Miss to the NCAA Tournament during the 2012-13 season, but was a frequent source of controversy. He was suspended to start the 2013-14 season because of his off-season behavior, which included police finding small amounts of marijuana and cocaine in his car, though he wasn't charged.
