Twin Cities Archbishop Nienstedt under investigation for sexual misconduct

Source: Star Tribune local

The Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis announced Tuesday that it is conducting an internal investigation of Archbishop John Nienstedt, following allegations of sexual misconduct.

The announcement came after a blog post was published online in Commonweal magazine, which claimed Nienstedt was being investigated for inappropriate sexual conduct with seminarians, priests and other men. The blog cites church whistleblower Jennifer Haselberger, a former canon lawyer for the archbishop, as the source of the information.

The conduct allegedly occurred during Nienstedt’s work in the Archdiocese of Detroit, as Bishop of New Ulm and as coadjudicator in the Twin Cities diocese.

Every Twin Cities Catholic I know (except a few Opus Dei types) will hold a jamboree if he goes down.

He is not a good fit for that archdiocese, never has been.

hopefully,
Bright

When he was moved from the New Ulm diocese to St. Paul, my aunt's parish (located in a small town in the New Ulm Diocese) nearly threw a party.

Wasting archdiocese money on his jihad against same sex marriage, among other things.

"The archbishop remains committed to the Catholic teaching of rejecting same-sex unions. He has stated that Satan is behind sodomy, abortion, contraception, pornography and the redefinition of marriage."

Not all but many were allowed to get away with it for many, many years.

Among them was an incident when I was a sophomore in an all girls Catholic HS. One day our classes were interrupted and the entire HS was told to come to the church by Msgr. Mullins assigned to the church on the same grounds. When we got there he began to berate, yell at, scream at, and attempt to humiliate our principal, a very much beloved nun adored by every student in the school. She was so kind, so compassionate, so loving. This crazy idiot priest started screaming at, insulting, and berating her while saying NOTHING of any substance. He was already known to be an arrogant jerk! This saintly nun never said a word in her defense- she took it all simply looking down. I truly believe he was jealous of her saintly nature and how loved and respected she was. That priest was simply a misogynist BULLY! We all disliked him even more- hated him after that!

That was 50 years ago but I can remember it like it was yesterday- I can still see it in my head. I have rarely experienced such shock. I knew then that I could NEVER belong to such a corrupt, misogynistic organization. That jerk priest owed us ALL, but especially that saintly nun, an apology. Never happened! That is what the Catholic Church thinks about women.
