Palin calls for Obama's impeachment over border crisis
Source: CNN.com
(CNN) Sarah Palin said President Barack Obama's inaction over the escalating crisis on the southern border is grounds for impeachment.
Calls for impeachment are coming from the President's harshest critics on the right and have intensified over the new immigration crisis. However, such a step is far-fetched, especially with Democrats currently in control of the Senate.
In the blistering op-ed, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee accuses Obama of intentionally allowing immigrants into the United States, hampering American job opportunities.
"President Obamas rewarding of lawlessness, including his own, is the foundational problem here," she wrote.
"Its time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment."

(5,165 posts)If the Republicans gain seats in the House and pick up the Senate, their first order of business in the next Congress WILL be Obama's impeachment. The House will repeatedly vote out articles of impeachment. They do not care if they have the votes in the Senate to remove Obama, they will continually vote out articles of impeachment.

Second, the more the partys highest-profile personalities raise the volume on impeachment talk, the more it motivates the Democratic base to actually get in the game this fall (look up 1998, midterm elections). Put it this way: who do you think is more excited about talking up Palins harangue this afternoon, the RNC or the DNC? Im guessing the latter.

(29,876 posts)Increasingly, across this city, the "I" word is being heard.
Impeachment is being brought up by Republicans outraged over Barack Obama's usurpations of power and unilateral rewriting of laws. And Obama is taunting John Boehner and the GOP: "So sue me."
Democrats are talking impeachment to rally a lethargic base to come out and vote this fall to prevent Republicans from taking control of the Senate, and with it the power to convict an impeached president.
Still, Republicans should drop the talk of impeachment.
For the GOP would gain nothing and risk everything if the people began to take seriously their threats to do to Barack Obama what Newt Gingrich's House did to Bill Clinton.
The charges for which a president can be impeached and removed from office, are "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Trouble is, just like a drug, readers develop a tolerance to things like that so she has to keep topping herself and out-nutcasing whatever it was she said last time. She probably doesn't even believe what she's spouted over the last couple of years. The whole point is to keep her name out there, sell her books and collect her speaking fees.
I look forward to whatever Crazy Sarah comes out with, say, a year from now, when she's desperate to stay relevant.

(13,141 posts)Joan Rivers is at it again. Known for commentary with shock value, the Fashion Police host's latest trolling may have gone too far. When the comedienne was on her way to an event, an on-the-street interviewer asked if she thought a gay president would take office before a female candidate. She quickly replied with We already have it with Obama.
Rivers then called out another member of the presidential family, First Lady Michelle Obama. "You know that Michelle is a tranny," she said. The interviewer then asked Rivers to repeat her statement and she said, "A transgender. We all know. It's okay."
How's that for unfunny business? Roll the tape above.
