Trayvon Martin Case: Enhanced Police Video Shows Injuries On George Zimmerman's Head

Source: Huffington Post

The enhanced video complicates an already complex narrative of what really took place that evening amid shifting public perception of both Zimmerman and Martin.

During an interview on "The Today Show," Craig Sonner, Zimmerman's lawyer, said the video was "too grainy" to show the injuries his client claimed he sustained in his fight with Martin. However, the funeral director who handled the body of the slain teen told Nancy Grace there were no cuts, bruises or signs of a fight on Martin's body.

How on Earth do you "repeatedly" pound someone's head into a sidewalk if you're pinning their shoulders? It's not like he had a bunch of hair to grab onto.

8 Minutes To Treat Zimmerman: "He wasn't injured that bad."

Unless the paramedics were treating Zimmerman and Trayvon at the same time, there was only around 8 minutes to treat Zimmerman. A law enforcement expert says this indicates he simply wasn't injured that bad" as claimed by his father and brother.

some claim those are stitches.

1.- Out of scope for field medics in the US... (Yes there is a big exception to that, disaster medicine and those are few and far between... this was not a disaster)

2.- Having put a few stitches under medical supervision in the ER... you need to practice... see point number one and in TJ we were trained to do this in the field... it takes at least half an hour to properly prepare a patient to do it right. Usual time from come in, clean the injury, apply local anesthetic and do the stitches, is about an hour...

Oh did I mention you need VERY GOOD LIGHT?

now are forging evidence to support a crumbling story about Trayvon being the aggressor. This claim about the injury on Zimmerman's head originated with the Daily Caller. The right wing is going along with that line. For example, this is from "The Savage Nation" from either Thursday or Friday:'

Hell, ABC even has this new story "George Zimmerman Video Shows Injury to Back of His Head"! Yes, the same ABC that the Daily Caller accused of doctoring the original video. (See also TalkLeft.)

They should have taken the guy to a doctor - who would be able to tell how old the injuries are.

Why did they not take him to see a doctor regardless - so that all this amateur detective work did not have to go on.

Hopefully, at this stage, a thorough medical examination will be still able to determine how old the scar is.

Then the armchair detectives can go home.

I'll bet they can't find anyone willing to lie about it, and the people who responded didn't see much if anything, which is why we aren't hearing diddly from this supposed person who "treated" Zimmerman.

Why do I have a feeling that any EMTs at the scene were more focused on the bloody, dead body of Trayvon, and not the vigilante with the gun?

What the Freaking video. Zimmerman is able to walk on his own power and doesn't appear to be struggling. So there is a small cut on his head. HOW is that small cut proof that Trayvon was this "BULLY" Zimmerman wants people to believe.

I saw the same thing the night the "unenhanced" video first aired last week, and commented on it to my wife. There are two problems with it being a cut.

First, the "injury" can be seen only once, just before Zimmerman starts to move forward between the motorcycles to eventually exit the garage, and then only for about 1/3 of a second.

Second, the injury appears to be about two inches long. A scalp wound bleeds profusely, and there is no blood on Zimmerman. His excuse is that the paramedics "cleaned him up." He also said that the wound should have been sutured, but he waited too long. A gash that size that should have had stiches would at least have been bandaged by the paramedics, even if he refused to go to the hospital. There is no bandage -- not even a bandaid..

I think what we are seeing is a reflection or a shadow for a split second. If it was real, it would be visible in other views.

I know I've read at least twice that Zimmerman's injuries (or possibly the lack thereof) were photographed by the police at the station. Remember that the investigating officer originally wanted to charge Zimmerman, I imagine he was just collecting the evidence he needed.

Maybe the article(s) were wrong. But I've been under the impression that the photos exist.

It wasn't just Trayvon screaming and running away. It sounds like he was captured or grabbed and held while fearing the worst... otherwise we would have heard the screams trailing off as he was running away.

I don't doubt that Trayvon tried push him away or fight him off.

You don't just stand there screaming for you life. I'm sure that is when Zimmerman was injured but it wasn't because Trayvon "attacked" it is because Trayvon was trying to defend/protect himself from an attacker.

To twist the injury into some sort of malicious attack by the victim just shows how jacked this Zimmerman guy is.

That's of course if there are any injuries to speak of.

Ok let's think about this logically. If this wound was a result of the fight that supposedly happened, then why didn't he go to the hospital? Why isn't there any dressing on the wound if it was freshly made? It would seem to me that an injury to the head that would result in a wound would mean that his first trip would be to the hospital to have it checked out not to the police station.

Just saying

Those have to be bruises. Gashes that large would bleed profusely. There would have been no way the paramedics would have let him go without bandaging his head if there were cuts of that magnitude. Could have happened when they were rolling around in the grass. If that had been done on the cement, the skin would have broken. He bumped his head on the lawn and it made his damn nose bleed. Happens to children rough-housing all the time. It looks angry like that because he has no hair. Boo Hoo

I think he has an ugly ass haircut, and if he has a bump on his head, he got it being shoved into the cop car in handcuffs, because Mister Vigilante (who knows so much about police work) forgot to duck.

And speaking of tape, when are we gonna see the tape of the conversation between the vigilante and the policeman who drove him to the station? I think that might be salient, as well.

If we can see a drunkard singing every word and note of Bohemian Rhapsody on YOUTUBE, surely we can see what Georgie had to say on the way to the station, n'est pas?
