Police, protesters scuffle after Ferguson apology

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Police and protesters clashed briefly in Ferguson just hours after the St. Louis suburb's police chief issued an apology to the family of Michael Brown, a black 18-year-old who was fatally shot by a white police officer last month.

Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson appeared outside the police department in civilian clothes late Thursday to assure protesters that there would be changes in the wake of Brown's killing, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported ( http://bit.ly/1rnGlrg ).

"All those things that are causing mistrust are being evaluated and we are going to be making changes," Jackson said.

The police chief started to march with protesters around 11 p.m. Soon after, a scuffle broke out about 20 feet behind the chief and one protester was arrested. The Post-Dispatch said at least three other protesters were arrested after another confrontation.

1. Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson needs to resign, along with changing the entire local gov.

All the small communities across America with the same 'fine the hell out of the locals' revenue stream for Local-gov. need to go away, aswell.

2. The "apology" was a month and a half late for leaving poor

Michael Brown's body in the street for 4 hours.

I read the Ferguson, MOPO hired a PR firm to come up with that.

3. Evidently the Chief went to the class to learn how to diffuse situations by coming out with an

apology from the class that was advertised to cops in the wake of the total and complete screw up they did. Unfortunately for him, that time had long past, as in before he brought out soldier cops pointing weapons at their citizens for no reason. Plus, we all know about the class and the fact that Ferguson was used as the example of how not to do it!

4. He promised change. The first thing that needs to be done is fire the entire police department and

start over. I do not think this situation can get better until we get a new batch of players. An post yesterday showed them wearing wrist bands in favor of the cop who shot Michael. The police see nothing wrong with the way they act.
