(9,766 posts)A student believed to have opened fire at Marysville-Pilchuck High School Friday morning is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to two law-enforcement sources.
Police have not released details, but there are reports of as many as six other people injured.
Ambulances are staging around the school and police are searching room to room with guns drawn, leaving tape to mark the doors of the rooms that have been cleared.
Some students were being evacuated from the school, walking out and across the fields with their hands up. Some were being bused to a nearby church. Others were being told to stay inside classrooms.
The shooting was reported about 10:45 a.m.
Well update this post with more information.

Reminds me of when the War criminals W and Cheney invaded Iraq and the worries there.

(53,661 posts)It's absurd, but the GOP of the past here is not that of today, they supported not having guns in the hands of all no matter what they'd done. We had an OC rally at the state capitol and have our own crop of 'Second Amendments Solution' types as well as some OCTexas whipping up the frenzy. Along with our resident Libertarians, Ron Paul groupies, some far right and CT types.
While this had nothing to do with that, I bet it'll be effective with some voters on either side of things...

It would have to be a ban on intra-state sales by private individuals without using a dealer to act as middle man and run the background check...or open the back ground checks to everybody but I think that is a Federal issue.
All table sales at a gunshow already do background checks, this would have to be for people who wander around the parking lot trying to sell their own firearm. (which they can do anywhere)

This morning about 7:30 am while reading DU, my son texts me "They've evacuated the school.". It was a terribly long 90 min. before I heard from him again.
