Egypt activists jailed for three years for 'illegal protest'

Source: BBC

An Egyptian court has sentenced 23 activists to three years in jail for breaching a controversial protest law.

The activists include Yara Sallam and Sanaa Seif - prominent civil rights campaigners.
...
The protest law requires special permits from the authorities for any protest involving more than 10 people.

The defendants were accused of holding an illegal demonstration on 21 June to call for the release of detainees and the annulment of the protest law itself.

...when they begged the military to overthrow the elected government. Now, they're back under military rule, hiding behind a shiny suit.

Pinochet made coup against the legally elected Dr allende while sisi removed the legally elected Dr. morsi. Dr allende was demonized by the us right wing as a communist while dr. morsi was demonized as a terrorist.

Dr. allende was not a communist and dr. morsy was not a terrorist

Same argument.

Note: I am against the coup, it's just not me to be against people wanting change.

They should have contested the next election.

Instead, they got played by the deep state.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
