Ted Cruz has a really gross reaction to Apple CEO Tim Cook’s coming out

Source: Salon

Texas senator and boastful homophobe Ted Cruz reacted to Apple CEO Tim Cook’s announcement that he is gay by calling Cook’s sexuality a “personal decision.”

Asked about Cook’s coming out on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Cruz parroted the right-wing talking point that sexual orientation is a personal choice.

“Those are his personal choices. I’ll tell you, I love my iPhone,” Cruz said.

<edit>

Cruz, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, has established himself as one of the GOP’s most strident opponents of LGBT equality. When the Supreme Court let stand a series of lower court rulings in favor of marriage equality earlier this month, the senator denounced the decision as “tragic and indefensible” and “judicial activism at its worst.” Cruz has also inserted himself into controversies over “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson’s homophobic views and Houston’s LGBT non-discrimination ordinance. The Tea Party favorite hasn’t restricted his anti-gay advocacy to rhetorical bombast; earlier this year, he and Utah Sen. Mike Lee introduced a bill that would codify states’ rights to ban marriage equality and to refuse to recognize same-sex nuptials performed in other states.

safe around the man.

This country is being physically attacked by terrorists who wish to destroy our government, kill or imprison many who dont fit in their version of life.

I wish I was kidding, the name of these people is

first word is not coffee

second word is what the SF Giants and their fans will do all day today

dolls out the window, ask for a catcher's mitt for her birthday, liked to play with train sets, etc, and would go fishing with our dad.

My parents were very accepting of her news when she finally told them... We all were.. Family is family dammit.

Oh, and she has been living with the same woman since 1974.

I don't understand this way of thinking, some people struggle with things they are not comfortable with. A parent should support their children no matter what the parents personal beliefs are.

has infected her thinking. She is 80. When my wife of 9 years left, mom was there to provide comfort, remind me of how big an idiot the that her fundie religion requires ex-Ms Wonderful to be was, and held my hand while I wept. She doesn't see the disconnect.....we are your children/moms/dads/ grandparents/ nephews/nieces/sons/ and (very femmey) daughters. I have learned to know and act from that Mom is doing the best she can with cognitive dissonance. I am still her favorite and I know she loves me as best she can, and I am richly blessed to have an 80 yr old mom tell me when to turn the fried chicken over in the pan.....I am lucky.

She cloaks her bigotry and racism in the bible. It's disgusting. I try to make up for it and she calls me mom now. Still I know it cuts at her soul to hear it from her mother.

And imagining him reproducing by vomiting out his young.
To me, this is a more appealing concept that admitting some other person would get close enough to him naked to produce children.

Staying relevant with his aging white conservative constituents.. And trying to keep social issues on the front burner so the facts that congress has been pretty much shut down and the SCOTUS placed our government on the auction block to the highest bidder remain on the back burner.

I mean, really. If you stand by your bigotry, you ought to now dump everything Apple related until Tim Cook either quits or starts attending one of those b.s. Pray-away-the-gay groups.

He is a vulgar, ignorant, sociopath, who would run over you with a Mac truck to get his way. I'm sorry if people get upset by his hateful and stupid language, REALLY! Don't fret yourself over what that ignoramus says. He wants to spitefully hurt and put you way far down below his perceived arrogant and self-righteous pedestal that he climbs up on.

There's only one thing you can do after someone climbs up on a pedestal --- knock 'em off! Just see him for what he is, and count yourself grateful and wise to not get bent out of shape by his pathetic arrogance.
