Brad Ashford (D-NE) wins House seat; Lee Terry (R-NE) concedes UPDATE

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Henry J. Cordes and Robynn Tysver

He left without tears.

And he left extolling his record in Congress.

Republican Lee Terry stepped up to the microphone this afternoon, with his wife, Robyn, by his side, and without any apparent drama conceded to Brad Ashford.

"I want to congratulate Brad Ashford on winning this election and I wish him well. I've already talked to him and told him that in the transition, we'll be as helpful as we're legally allowed to be," Terry said.

And talking about his "nice house and kid in college" while he voted to shut down the government didn't help. Ashford ran a good campaign.

saying he had a nice house and would not hold his salary while the govt shutdown he supported was going on rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Also, there is not special about him, very establishment, very quiet and very forgettable.
