Japan's new 'Black Widow' arrested after sixth former partner dies in suspicious circumstances
Source: The Independent
A 67-year-old woman has reportedly been arrested in Japan on suspicion of killing her husband, in what local media have described as the countrys latest possible black widow case.
Interest in the fate of Chisako Kakehi has risen sharply since it emerged that the death was the sixth involving her former partners.

According to the Japan Times, Ms Kakehi has accepted that she has been married four times and that several former partners have died within a few years of meeting her.
But she has denied murdering her latest husband, Isao Kakehi, who died at the age of 75 at the couples home in Muko, Kyoto one month after they wed. The Times reported that an autopsy found lethal quantities of cyanide in his blood.

(183,007 posts)There was a case here in Virginia of a woman whose second husband died suspiciously just like her first husband. They found the body of the second and she claimed she thought he was just missing. No idea how he got in that old well or how all that lime got dumped in him.

(16,423 posts)An acquaintance of mine is a chemicist and he told me that chemicists have easy access to cyanide because they need it for many analytical chemical reactions.
And cyanide is so poisonous that it's strictly kept out of everyday-life. You cannot possibly accidently poison yourself with cyanide. (When digesting certain seeds, the stomach produces cyanide. I don't remember which kinds of seeds it was, but it was nothing food-related.)

(2,840 posts)can be the fodder for good old-fashioned fun.
If you can switch the sexes in this little "joke" and be confident it wouldn't peg the outrage meter, then OK.
And spare us (and especially this man-loving woman) all the crapola about "oh, teh poor menz widdle fee-fees." You either believe that the sexes deserve equal treatment and consideration or you don't. And if a joke isn't appropriate or is deemed sexist when women or a woman is the butt of it, then it's not appropriate and is sexist if men or a man is.
One standard.
