FedEx Freight Drivers In Louisville Reject Teamsters Union

Source: Nasdaq

(RTTNews.com) - FedEx Freight, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. ( FDX ) announced that the city and road drivers in Louisville voted against representation by the Teamsters union and in favor of continuing their direct relationship with the company, at the union representation election held in Louisville, KY.

Pat Reed, FedEx Freight Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, "We will continue to work closely with our team members to ensure that FedEx Freight remains a great place to work."

FedEx Freight noted that union representation election results in Louisville mark the third election in which FedEx Freight drivers have demonstrated their desire to remain union-free.

FedEx Freight drivers in Delanco, NJ, and Newark, NJ, have also voted against union representation. In addition, the Teamsters withdrew their petitions on the eve of elections in Middletown, PA, South Newark, NJ, and Richmond, VA.

A few months ago, a court in Ca. ruled that the small truck drivers are not independent contractors and are covered by wage and hours regulations.

This union vote is FedEx freight, which have always been subject to ordinary NLRA employee rules and jurisdiction.

Well, it is Kentucky, the same state with more people
covered by the ACA. and who yet voted for the Turtle to rip it out by its roots.

This is why I do not support the personnel at FED EX.
These Right to Work for less personnel got there days off, sick, pay, and there other so called benefits because of other UNIONIZED facilities, and if all the other facilities were non-union then lets see what they have to say.
It's like the T-Shirt I have it shows a scab hanging on my back and it says "Get The Freeloader Off My Back ".
This organization said something to its employees and if employees of this company said they didn't I question who is answering

They also have the right not to organize. I would like to see the posters calling these men "wimps" and "idiots" behind a keyboard, do it to their faces. I wonder who would be the "wimps" then....

FedEX treats their employees well because of the threat of the union. I belong to a union now and say I could not work here without a union . That being said before this I worked for a German company for 20 years (in the US) and always said you didn't need a union there. I had better benefits and more job protection than some unionized company's. In fact workers at the time rejected unionization at other plants of the same company as well.

I have found the drivers for both FEDEX and UPS. here anyway, to be exceptionally dedicated to providing great service.
The reason I switched from UPS recently was because of customer service, my UPS rep,..importing issues. It once took me over a year to straighten out a wrong invoice I received from them,..an absolute nightmare.
My FEDEX rep is great..any issues(rarely) she is right on it, Plus they have "Great Rates"- unbelievable service for international packages of 10 to, I think, 150 lbs....

It's about how the company will fuck you in a heartbeat.

That's my company. They have spent untold millions with anti-union companies, to drive their anti-union campaigns...they send out tons of glossy mailings, put up posters, put great food spreads out in employee areas, have ALL supervisors with big loving smiles and tell you how wonderful the "family" feeling at the company is.

Then behind the scenes the company manipulate work schedules and chisel away at pay incentives here and there...and then you ask what happened to XXX...silence. But management on all levels, gets massive bonus dollars, for working to get votes to fail (we have thousands of stupid,
brainwashable lemmings.)

When you have no LEGAL and BINDING say, in the end, you get FUCKED.

Equal pay and treatment for women, LGBT, and minorities by contract?

The Union Difference : http://www.aflcio.org/Learn-About-Unions/What-Unions-Do/The-Union-Difference

Union members earn better wages and benefits than workers who aren’t union members. On average, union workers’ wages are 27 percent higher than their nonunion counterparts.

Unionized workers are 60 percent more likely to have employer-provided pensions.

More than 79 percent of union workers have jobs that provide health insurance benefits, but less than half of nonunion workers do. Unions help employers create a more stable, productive workforce—where workers have a say in improving their jobs.

Unions help bring workers out of poverty and into the middle class. In fact, in states where workers don’t have union rights, workers’ incomes are lower.

When they delivered a highly expensive electronic device to my door, they brought it in a SILVER SEDAN and tossed it on the porch.

UPS carefully places it in a hidden location, even wrapping it in plastic when it's raining.

Fuck FedEx.

Our UPS guy leaves treats for the dog.

When UPS shows up, the dogs greet them with great enthusiasm.

They know whoever wears that brown uniform is a friend.

At any time the largess of FedEx can be pulled right out from under them. With a union to guarantee fair treatment they fly the trapeze without that net.
