GOP moves early to court conservative Christians
Source: CNN
Washington (CNN) -- The first votes of the 2016 campaign won't be cast for another year but there's already a race well underway: The Christian primary.
Republicans are actively courting white evangelical and born again Christian voters, knowing they will be crucial in early-voting states such as Iowa and South Carolina.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is urging people to join him next month in Baton Rouge for a day of fasting, repentance and prayer focused on the future of the United States.

Every single Republican does
Is exactly the opposite of
Everything Christ Taught
Feed the hungry = Cut food stamps / school lunches
Heal the sick = Repeal Obamacare / Go bankrupt if sick
Take Care of the Least Among Us = Eliminate assistance / Social Security
Christ was pretty clear what he thought.
Republicans are pretty clear about how they feel about the 99%, the sick, or the hungry.
Republicans obviously serve Satan.
No wonder they want Evangelicals to support them..........

(11,175 posts)In both major parties, the early contest for the support of big donors and bundlers has been described as the first primary. It's a big part of the reason some candidates announce, campaign, but then withdraw before anyone has actually voted.
The difficulty for Republicans is that the Christian primary and the money primary will probably have different winners.

(5,364 posts)I've been noticing over the years the christian fundies I know have been espousing an increasingly uber pro-business view. If I wanted to stoop so low ( as I do now ) I'd refer to them as calvanist boot-lickers. They'll gladly kiss the ass of those who shit on them; It seems it's the moral thing to do. Respecteth your boss, as he putteth food on your table and shit.

(11,175 posts)The fundies may be increasingly pro-business, but that doesn't mean they'll support someone like Jeb Bush in the primary. I think they'll still prefer someone with a more conservative image, especially on social issues. If it comes down to, for example, Bush versus Huckabee, the big donors will prefer Bush but the evangelicals will prefer Huckabee.

There is also what has become a four-day holiday of Thanksgiving, when we are supposed to thank God.
Congress opens with prayer. http://dailycaller.com/2013/05/08/should-we-open-congress-with-prayer/
Presidential inaugurations open and close with prayer.
And, to enforce the First Amendment guaranty of separation of Church and state, we must depend upon the SCOTUS, which begins its day with, "God save this honorable court," something said SCOTUS has described as merely custom/tradition and not religious.
BTW, "under God," added to the pledge under Eisenhower (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pledge_of_Allegiance and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_the_Pledge_of_Allegiance ), is being challenged in court. Again.
