I actually appreciated the humor in this and forwarded it to another victim who also found it funny.

I fully realize that is not the response of every victim, but don't assume all of us share the concern. As odd as you may find it, I personally find mockery helpful. Anything that belittles aggressors is welcome to me. Mock them, shame them, punish them. All of the above.

My rapist was mocked and shamed by his fraternity brothers. All the mockery directed at him not me. Their recognition that his behavior was unacceptable found expression through both humor and condemnation. I think the mockery was as hard for him to bear as the shame. It sent a clear message his actions were unacceptable and he was beneath contempt. Some of us need humor to cope with the pain, preferring laughter to punctuate the tears.

There is another way to look at it.
