Comey should’ve done America a favor and shut up

FBI Director James Comey, who seems more interested in someday hosting a talk show in Cable America than properly doing his job, doesn't know when to shut up.

He didn't know when to shut up when he announced in the summer that he wasn't going to prosecute Hillary Clinton, and he doesn't know how to shut up now.

Comey acts as if he is doing something noble and virtuous by making a big announcement, less than two weeks from the election, about emails found on devices in the nightmare household of Clinton aide Huma Abedin and her estranged husband Anthony Weiner, now facing a world of trouble for allegedly sexting an underage girl.

Only Comey isn't doing something virtuous here, or doing something worthy of the office that he holds, if not for long. Instead he engages in a longstanding rite ... of covering his own ass ...

The FBI is not supposed to even comment on "ongoing" investigations. And not within 60 days of an election either. And to top it off, he didn't have one shred of new evidence. He didn't have anything at all!
