GOP rep: 'Nobody dies' from not having health care

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/gop-rep-nobody-dies-from-not-having-health-care/ar-BBAOBDw?li=BBnb7Kz

"You are mandating people on Medicaid accept dying. You are making a mandate that will kill people," the audience member said, before being drowned out by Labrador's response.

"No one wants anybody to die," Labrador said. "You know, that line is so indefensible. Nobody dies because they don't have access to health care."

The line immediately drew audible outrage from the crowd, as well as ire from social media users. Labrador was similarly booed for a comment he made last month that health care isn't a "basic human right."

as long as he and his family have health care coverage, the hell with the rest of us. I hope the Democrats use that line in commercials for the midterm election.

in an election ad. I just can't wait to hear if he tries to dial it back in a few days and make excuses for his words.

I am personally acquainted with a person who needed heart surgery to live. This person had lost insurability while covered under a group health plan. When that coverage stopped there was no insurance and could not buy coverage. The public funded hospital told this person that, "When you deposit $200,000 with us we will schedule your surgery." It was only after more heart deterioration until Obama created the Pre-existing condition insurance plan that the life saving surgery was performed.
