Arch foe of Sanders targets senator's wife -Boston Globe

Senator Bernie Sanders is the most popular politician in America, but he certainly has his share of passionate enemies.

Back home in Vermont, one man has been tangling with him for years, and with special ferocity. Soon, President Trump could give that man his best shot yet to stain Sanders’ reputation.

Brady Toensing isn’t exactly a household name; he could well become one. He is a candidate for US attorney in the state, a perch from which he would oversee an ongoing federal investigation into Sanders’ wife — a crusade he started even before Sanders ran for president.

The story is convoluted, but one thing is clear: Jane Sanders has had enough of Toensing and his tactics.
“I find it incredibly sexist that basically he’s going after my husband by destroying my reputation, and that’s not OK,” she said

1. Oh, please! She brought down an old and respected college with financial shenanigans.

"Arch foe." This isn't Marvel Comics. This isn't someone coming after Sanders. This woman's actions NEED to be investigated. They are either outright fraud or stunning stupidity. It really does behoove the state to find out which one.

This is a ridiculous and cowardly position for her to take. She needs to own up to what SHE did. And the article is nothing but a hit piece on a guy who is basically just doing his job.

2. If by 'just doing his job' you mean making a career of going after Berni, then you're okay

with that?

This guy is about to possibly become a U.S. attorney. Trump will be thrilled.

(As far as "Arch foe" that's the Globe headline, not my words, btw)

This deal was dirty.

with the reporter.

The piece clearly lays out that this look into Ms Sanders is only the latest in a long history of going after Bernie.

1. "an old and respected college"

"The scrappy, alternative college was founded in 1972 as a place for adult learners and had operated for years out of a North Avenue building that was once a general store." - the cited Globe article.

"Burlington College started in 1972 as the Vermont Institute of Community Involvement.[4] A handful of students met in the living room of founder Dr. Steward LaCasce.[4] It originally served adult learners and veterans."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burlington_College

So not old and respected, instead founded fairly recently and rather offbeat.

2. "This isn't someone coming after Sanders." um yes it is, that is exactly what it is, that was clearly described in the article.
Brady "Toensing, 49, is an attorney and vice chairman of the state Republican Party." "Toensing has made a career of attacking Vermont’s Democratic and Progressive politicians. His targets include the former governor and attorney general. His highest-profile target by far has been the Sanders family."
- again from the Globe article.

Toensing is a James O'Keefe level political operative. The people on this board giving him credence should be ashamed of themselves. It is the equivalent of people supporting the endless attacks on Senator Clinton.

was made larger because of this horrible land deal, and shortly thereafter the college went bankrupt as a result of the land deal.

Those are the facts.

The politics of the person investigating those facts are not germaine, except as I said above, it's a shame she has given this guy so much fodder for dragging her through the mud.

Not ashamed of anything, but thanks for your concern.
