from Robert Reich

'Deflection, deflection, deflection. Trump’s tweet this morning about transgender people in the military is rubbish (he can’t make that policy decision on his own). It’s intended to steal headlines from today's big stories, none of which is favorable to Trump:

(1) The Senate’s inability to come up with a compromise repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Senators voted last night on a "compromise" by McConnell that fell far short of the 50 votes needed. Today is likely to be the same.

(2) Paul Manafort’s closed-door session with the Senate Judiciary Committee. He agreed to give them material and talk with them. Watch what senators tell the press about that meeting.

(3) Trump’s unrelenting criticism of his own attorney general, Jeff Sessions. It's now provoking anger on the right (yesterday's Breitbart News blared: “Trump vs. Trump: Potus Endangers Immigration Agenda,” and said the attack on Sessions “only serves to highlight Trump’s own hypocrisy.”)'

I was going to post this question about distractions/shiny objects.

R. Reich is always spot on. I heard him speak once and truly appreciate the man's experience, intelligence, and oratory skills.
