Now comes the mid-term elections.

Perhaps what is most astonishing for me, as both an anthropologist and educator, is the level of racist discourse promoted by the current Trump administration against hapless refugees and the so-called threat they pose.

Indeed, Trump and his administration have focused on immigrants as a major threat to the security of nation. Such hyped-up racist rhetoric is completely false.

This vitriol against the caravan of Central Americans and Mexicans on their way to the US border was cruel electioneering, no more. These people are poor and are fleeing horrific violence in their home countries. Some of this violence has been caused by US policies in the region.

Nonetheless, Trump has staged the national guard at the border for photo opportunities of soldiers building coil wire fencing. Trump’s words of racist hatred have also inspired and summoned numerous paramilitary posses of armed militias to the US/Mexican borderlands.

It was during the Carter Administration, the Mariel boat people. The US and Florida handled it with no soldiers, no barbed wire and no Wall.

2. REPUBLICANS HANDLE EVERYTHING WITH HATE

The old white people are on their last gasp. They truly hate those who will replace them and do a better job. I am only a second generation American and I try harder then my parents and both my parents were outstanding workers. I welcome new people who I know will be hard workers and outstanding citizens versus the current old hating white people who are living here taking up space.........

3. All Old White People Don't handle Everything with Hate

Only the old white people who watch Fox News and listen Rush Limbaugh on the radio.

This notice was posted by an old white lady age 79 years, first voted at age 21 always voted Democrat. If a democrat ran who I thought was a crook, I just skipped that place with no vote. I still think there was some mechanical voting hanky panky - 3.000,000 more votes for Hillary is just flat doesn't make sense.
