Reagan outed as a overt, extreme racist

From CNN: "In a newly unearthed audio clip, then-California Gov. Ronald Reagan disparaged "monkeys" from African countries in a phone call with then-President Richard Nixon"

From the Atlantic: "Reagan forged ahead with his complaint: “To see those, those monkeys from those African countries—damn them, they’re still uncomfortable wearing shoes!

From the Wash PO: "Then-California Gov. Ronald Reagan talked to President Nixon in October 1971 after the United Nations voted to recognize the People’s Republic of China with support from African delegates."

From Fox News: "0 results found "

I grew up in the 80s and I knew he was a racist. Never mind where he started his campaign.

Republicans have been that way ever since the re-alignment triggered by the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Who could forget one of Reagan's Greatest Hits - "The Chicago Welfare Queen".

The first hand stories that I've heard about Reagan's racism. Confirmed.

Many of you are too young to remember George Wallace but Trump is about to channel him for the upcoming election.

That's part of our sad history. Lincoln's Republican party was the liberal one in the 1860s. Today's Repubs don't even know that.
