Trump, remarks during a campaign rally in Orlando, June 18, 2019
In compiling our latest update of The Fact Checkers database of President Trumps false and misleading claims, we noticed the president has a fresh talking point hes been using at his campaign rallies that the administrations war on regulations is giving each American household an additional $3,000 a year.
Were always suspicious when we see any president tout a number like this. We traced this particular figure to a 31-page report issued in June by the White House Council of Economic Advisers, titled, The Economic Effects of Federal Deregulation since January 2017: An Interim Report. Weve spent a couple of weeks digging into the report, communicating with the CEA and talking to outside experts. Heres our assessment of Trumps claim.

Our advice: Dont bank on it. Moreover, remember the various ways administration policies are also reducing household incomes. The president may be proud of his deregulatory agenda, but theres no reason to be so misleading. He earns Three Pinocchios.

(9,481 posts)Prices are increasing everywhere. Even if they are telling the truth, it's probably the 1% that is pocketing all the savings and thereby on average, you get the $3000 amount.

(3,268 posts)I object to your asshole tariff moves and not only because of what it costs me personally. But what I really fucking wish you a miserable death for is "rolling back" an entire world of safety and environmental regulations. If they saved my life I would still have to object for the irreparable damage they cause for following generations. Rot in hell you wretched bitch- long after you and I die at very least some small number of people will smile when my name is mentioned-if anyone smiles when you are mentioned it will be because the line to piss on your grave is under three hours.
