What Occupiers Have Learned From Obama
It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch at this point to say that Obama is responsible for Occupy Wall Street's existence. The failures of his administration to stop the bleeding caused by financial meltdown have been well documented, as well as the disillusionment among many former supporters.

(34,589 posts)Obama has made very many important reforms. For example, the Dodd-Frank Act is a blockbuster, it will prevent banks from ever again losing billions of taxpayer-backed dollars in crazy gambling schemes.
Oh wait...
Well, in any case, Obama's proposals to cut Social Security benefits and raise the eligibility age for Medicare will save a fortune for the 1%. As will the massive austerity program that will start 1/1/2013. Doesn't that count for *something*?
You people are never happy. Haters gotta hate, I guess.

(10,893 posts)It was the November 2010 elections that eventually led to the birth of OWS. Boehner and the rest of his newly-elected Tea Party pals all-out refused to budge on anything PBO wanted to have passed like his Jobs Plan and higher taxes for the 1%, and they wanted the government to shut down. And the Occupy movement gained ignition in Wisconsin, where Gov. Scott Walker is facing a recall.
Regarding the president, he actually has a number of progressive accomplishments under his belt:
