Texans afflicted by 15-inch rains dismayed that climate denial persists in Congress

(snip)

“Climate change is measured on patterns over years and decades and centuries. There have always been catastrophic weather events,” Sen. Ted Cruz said, adding that efforts to link this summer’s woes to climate change “are far more politics than science.”

(snip)

Its Global Climate Change dashboard spotlights the 4-inch rise in sea level since 1993; shrinkage of 13% per decade of Arctic ice; and the huge spike in carbon dioxide, a heat-trapping greenhouse gas that comes from burning fossil fuels.

Since the industrial age began in the mid-1700s, NASA says, “human activities have raised atmospheric CO2 by 50%” — a bigger spike than 20,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age.

(snip)

To anyone who denies these extreme events are unnatural, she said, “They’re not out here living on this street. ... A lot of the Congress, they’re a lot older than we are. They’re stuck in their beliefs. Things didn’t happen like this when they were coming up.”

They would like to say it’s all a hoax, but they can see the glaciers shrinking every year

Does not give a god damn about his daughter’s future. Fuck them, he’s getting his now. And he thinks he is a good Christian, condemning his daughter’s lives so he can play with all his Fossil Fuel Cash now. Yet Texas loves him. And they will beg the blue states to give cash to fix disasters.
Fuck em. Shoot the floods and hurricanes. Or shoot each other over a raft. I really don’t care, do you?

I’m not unkind. I just don’t understand how people don’t see this.

12. this is really easy. 1500 radio stations that all GOP pols depend on have been denying for 30 years

with limbaugh policing it. no rw radio host could get that job and keep it if they didn't deny because the dittoheads that couldn't call in to the main national shows would call them or their producers and repeat the denial and get them fired if they did.

you can't sell something as basically stupid and suicidal with a TV network or emails or social media.

that can be used to reinforce it but it's the few hundred unchallenged radio blowhards repeating the same shit that gets it done, still, because dems, progressives, and environmentalists not only ignore it but also allow at least 87 universities to support more than 260 x-limbaugh stations with sports. astoundingly stupid, incompetent, and irresponsible.

when it ends it will change everything and ensure long term return to democratic dominance, like before americans let republicans put limbaugh and sons on 1500 unchallenged radio stations.
