Lake refuses to concede in Arizona governor's race she lost

PHOENIX (AP) — Refusing to concede, Kari Lake, the defeated Republican candidate for Arizona governor, said Thursday she is assembling lawyers and collecting evidence of voters having trouble casting ballots on Election Day as she considers her next move.

Lake, in a 2 1/2-minute video, made no mention of giving up in her most extensive public comments since losing the election. Before the election, she had refused to say that she would concede if she lost the race to Democrat Katie Hobbs.

“Rest assured I have assembled the best and brightest legal team, and we are exploring every avenue to correct the many wrongs that have been done this past week,” Lake said. “I’m doing everything in my power to right these wrongs.”

She pointed to long lines at some polling places that were exacerbated by problems with ballot printers at about a third of the vote centers in Maricopa County, the largest county in the state. She said the problems disenfranchised voters who couldn’t wait at the polls.

Any time a Democrat sees her anywhere, they should start laughing and saying 'Loser'. Every time she appears at an event, all of us need to break out in loud laughter. The repugs have been in charge for decades. Every election there for the past few years has been marked by thug jiggery-pokery: closing old polling places and changing locations without warning, cyber ninjas screwing around with voting machines, too few voting sites. All under Lake's party.

Arizona is a laughing stock of vote counting speed precisely because the Republicans who control the state house have made it that way. The Republican party there, many of them relics of the Goldwater days and a group of hard line, extremist Mormons locked in the past, in at least two counties wanted to hand count ballots, as if that would be more accurate.

Glad to see the population growth and the alliance of new residents from the Northeast and California with a latino population that is more heavily Democratic than in some other places, and which votes at a higher turnout rate, are getting rid of the old establishment.

Refusing to concede just tells us Kari Lake is not a patriot, nor does she care about anyone's votes. She's just another Trumpie liar and a politician of no consequence. The media needs to stop giving her a forum to complain.
