LTE: Exposure to toxic chemicals at Boeing result of rollback of regulations

So are you surprised that Boeing completely ignored their own doctor’s warning about the danger of exposure to toxic factory chemicals on the factory floor? (“Secret files reveal Boeing doctor warned of toxic risks, birth defects,” The Herald, Nov. 14).

Corporations and their Republican-led friends in Congress have been working for years to eliminate OSHA regulations and to defund the agency that monitors worker safety and health. Not only that, but the party of Lincoln also has fought against increasing the minimum wage, expanding health insurance, and paid family leave. They also believe, despite clear evidence, that climate disruption is a hoax and that elections are being, “stolen,” and that Democrats kill and eat children.

When Republicans are in power, they vote huge tax cuts for the rich which further exacerbate budget deficits and do nothing for working people. And now the latest idea presented recently by Sen. Rick Scott of Florida, is to “sunset” Social Security and Medicare. Is this what we want, no more Social Security and Medicare and a country completely run by corporations and CEOs that pay no attention to worker safety and health? Wake up American before it’s too late!
