... [T]he committee confirmed it planned to hand over its own evidence and a roadmap to prosecute Mr Trump and several of his high-profile associates for federal crimes, including aiding insurrection.

Mr Trump, who has previously described the committee's investigation as a "witch hunt," released a statement claiming the committee action's "strengthened" him.
"These folks don't get it that when they come after me, people who love freedom rally around me. It strengthens me. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger," he wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.
"Americans know that I pushed for 20,000 troops to prevent violence on Jan 6, and that I went on television and told everyone to go home

(10,251 posts)But Ive heard him described as cunning and Id have to say that is true. Hes spent his entire life scamming, lieing, cheating and in general avoiding taking responsibility for any wrong doing so he is very practiced at that.
I really hope DOJ brings charges against him and more over they need to lock him up as a flight risk. I think a lot of the stolen documents he kept as bargaining chips. I could easily see he running off to Putin with a few boxes of secret documents.
I think when DOJ starts issuing subpoenas we will start learning a lot more as some lips loosen.
And as poster #1 pointed out he is threatening to stir up the shit if indicted. He should be locked up and have a gag order against any public interviews or statements.

(549 posts)WTF? In elections past, the Electoral College confirmation was Page Two news. There was zero suspense. Interrupting it was just not thought of.
If Trump really wanted 20,000 guarding the Capitol he could have had them, easily.
