The 28-year-old alleged shooter also died after a confrontation with police at the Covenant School in Nashville, Don Aaron, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, told reporters Monday.

Before Monday’s shooting, there had only been four women assailants in 172 mass shootings in the U.S., as documented by The Violence Project since 1966, which documents shootings involving at least four fatalities, not including the shooter.

1. Not a Psychiatrist, but....

With the anti-LGBTQ bills being signed into law in many states denying transgender youth, men, and women from receiving medical care, what bathrooms they are to use, being excluded from sports and other activities, from performing at Clubs in drag or even having gainful employment, MIGHT have had something to do with the shooting?

What this person did was WRONG and she paid for it with her life.

But I also agree, it is the GUNS and easy access to them for whatever purpose. Nor does it help thagt the Gov. of Tennessee signed a bill into Law at a Gun manufacturing facility saying there no one needs a permit to carry guns. How insane is that?

2. Another Right Wing Theory Bites the Dust as well

They are forever blaming the fact that children in public schools aren't allowed to pray as a reason for violence and a host of other of societal issues. Since the shooter was a graduate of the Christian school she targeted, one can deduce she clearly was allowed to pray, perhaps even forced to pray in school. Their other favorite chestnut is children aren't taught respect or given proper discipline, (code for adults being able to hit children) in non religious schools. Given, I haven't attended a Christian school since 1976, but not only was it allowed then it was employed frequently. My guess is it's still at least occurring behind closed doors.

Yet this shooter clearly still ended up violent and deeply disturbed. In fact I have been told by a number of health professionals that most of the people who end up needing mental health care, are people who were raised in a strict religious manner.

While I myself have never committed violence against others, I have been under mental health treatment for 26 years, and had to be hospitalized 4 times during those years for mental breakdowns which included 2 self harm attempts.

I attended Catholic School where I was beaten & belittled on a regular basis. I was told by a friend's mother that was a psychiatric nurse that while she couldn’t give me names due to confidentiality issues, that a multitude of my fellow alumni of that same school had spent time in that ward over the years.

Prayer and discipline aren't the issue! It's greed,glorification of weapons, and intolerance.
