Obama movie ''The Obama Effect'' aims to rekindle 2008

Four years ago, Americans’ lives were forever changed by the election of the country’s first black president.

At least, that’s the message of “The Obama Effect,” a movie that premiered over the weekend in select theaters, with plans for a wider release in October.

Not to be confused with 2008’s “Hype: The Obama Effect,” by conservative nonprofit Citizens United, this film is “unabashedly, unashamedly pro-Obama,” writer-director Charles Dutton says.

Dutton also plays the lead character, John Thomas, a 50-something insurance salesman and father of three who becomes obsessed with Obama after suffering a life-threatening heart attack. Thomas begins quarreling with his neighbors over politics, holding imaginary conversations with Obama and eventually quits his job to campaign for the candidate. Naturally, this strains his family life.

Dutton says Thomas, while an exaggerated character, exemplifies the intense devotion of many Obama supporters leading up to the election.

Oh that's right, he said Obama really isn't the 1st black President.

They should have people in the theaters registering more people after seeing this movie.

3. If he wanted the same energy as 2008 he should've done more change,

so we aren't still hoping for it.

Sorry a movie isn't going to re-energize me after drones, Gitmo, extra-judicial renditions, attack on mmj dispensaries, bailing banks with no accountabiity, Trans-Pacific-Partnership, same ol' faces at the Fed and Treasury, same status quo.

Unfortunately for Obama those Dems that lack energy for him this time, won't be fooled by a movie. Probably we'll all still vote for him, but without much excitement, no contributions, and no volunteering for many of us this time. He didn't earn it in the years he's held the position.

The good thing this year is there are a lot more 'positive' folks out here SUPPORTING President Obama than there are negative ones.

Have a great week

to him instead?

And why the movie to energize his base?

Seems you live in a world not resembling reality.

6. Do you think that everything anyone does is always connected to President Obama?

Just because this film is based around events that happened in 2008 doesn't mean that Obama even knows about this PRIVATELY FUNDED FILM.

An actor writes, directs, and stars in a movie and you automatically tie it to President Obama? What's up with that?
