Armed group attacks Occupy New Haven rally

~~~snip~~~
NEW HAVEN — One city man has been arrested following an incident early Friday in which a group of males, at least one of whom was carrying a gun, kicked tents at the Occupy New Haven encampment on the city Green, while yelling “wake up,” police said.
Police said in a statement that occupiers called to report the incident at a little after 1 a.m. One of the occupiers told police that he saw one of the perpetrators point a gun at another male occupier.
The perpetrators fled the Green, but Officer Michael Pepe was in their path, and “saw them coming and tried stopping them,” police said in the statement.
Suspect Dairres Walden, 22, of Huntington Street, took off and made it over a fence in the 200 block of Park Street, allegedly dropping a gun as he did so, police said. Walden then “retrieved” the gun and “ducked from sight,” police said.
"Tried stopping them?" One has a gun and the police "tried stopping him?" Where's the peper spray? Where are the batons? Where are the tasers?
Suspect Dairres Walden, 22, of Huntington Street, took off and made it over a fence in the 200 block of Park Street, allegedly dropping a gun as he did so, police said. Walden then “retrieved” the gun and “ducked from sight,” police said.
The suspect drops his gun, then retrieves, then "ducks from sight?" Where are the police? Are they too busy "trying to stop them?"
The article didn't say, but then, you would think Bush would permit the FBI to question Osama bin Ladens' relatives living in the US following 9/11. Instead he flew them out of the country and forbade any interviews. Maybe if he had allowed a complete investigation, we would have found OBL without spending almost 10 years in Iraq.
But I digress...
take 2 hour shifts if necessary. They should never be surprised with an enemy already in the camp when they wake. Cameras to record the violators. If the police are giving the baggers or whoever the morning greeters were, wide range or encouragement, the mothers will break when caught on film and prosecuted.
edit to add: apparently the police are only able to apprehend those who do not run, fight back, or in any other way make it difficult on the police. Sitting peacefully while they pepper spray you is the preferred method.
learn: maybe it's time to run from them, then regroup. Police, I mean.
During my stay with OWS in NYC, we always had roving patrols at night. I'm not sure if they carried cameras, but that's a fantastic idea.
